In 1999, Dr. Hartman-Stein developed the Behavioral Competence Inventory (BCI)©
The BCI is a 106 item caregiver report measure of the breadth of the functional behavioral repertoire of older adults at risk for dementia.
The 106 items are divided into 7 separate sub-scales:

- Instrumental Activities of Daily Living
- Memory/Orientation
- Social Interaction
- Compensates for Incapacities
- Behavioral Excesses
- Behavioral Deficits
The BCI is sold in a test kit of 50 sets each, including grading sheets. Tax and shipping costs included in price. It can be purchased by check or by credit card through PayPal:
